Aude is a tourist department with an important cultural heritage and very diverse natural sites. Since the 1990, the Aude has developed the attractiveness of its territory by focusing on the development of the publicity of the Cathars. Aude has been appointed Cathar by the General Council to mark the authentic and mysterious character of the department, including its many Cathar castles.
Located in the heart of the triangle Toulouse – Montpellier – Barcelona, at the crossroads of two major thoroughfares dating back to ancient times, from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, the Cevennes to the Pyrenees sources of Aude, Carcassonne flourishes in the plains of the lower valley and invite you to a thousand twists and turns : the historic circuit or the gourmet wine tour through the bucolic circuits.
In Carcassonne, the Bastide Saint-Louis to the medieval city, many monuments to visit, to discover ! you can simply and freely stroll along the streets and get seduced by both the architecture as meetings with Carcassonnais or prefer to be accompanied by guides interpreters anxious to restore the memory of their city.
